Theatre in Education
(Flexible Vignette Plays)
BULLY! and TEEN and two vignette styled plays, in the genre of Epic Theatre. Both plays examine the social and emotional issues faced by contemporary teenagers - body image, peer group pressure, jealousy, unrequited love, anxiety, toxic friendships, bullying, cyber life, sexuality, relationships with parents, etc.
The plays consists of monologues, duologues, small group and whole ensemble scenes. Designed for large casts with each actor playing multiple roles, every scene is based on real life accounts and events; some funny, some challenging, some heartbreaking, but all real.
Some schools/theatre companies take a selection of scenes from both plays and even have their students write their own scenes in a similar style to integrate. The integration of physical theatre, dance, and songs that suit the themes could also be included if you have musicians/singers/dancers in your classes. I am very happy to allow flexibility. The plays are structured so omission and addition of scenes is very simple and they can be as long or short as you need.
