A Teenage Rom-Com - Shakespeare Style!
On a hot Saturday morning on the grounds of St Athenian's High School, rehearsals are underway for a Shakespearean Gala – Scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream. But when the boundaries between fantasy and reality begin to blur, the students find themselves drawn into an enchanted forest where Puck, Oberon, Titania and a troupe of mischievous fairies weave their magic. When the students playing the Lovers start to transform into their namesake Shakespearean characters, Helena suspects that something more than theatre magic is at work and fights to break the spell before her friends lose themselves completely.
Meanwhile, a group of wayward tech students cast as the Mechanicals rehearse nearby. Spotting an opportunity for mischief, Puck separates Nick—a self-proclaimed "serious actor" playing Bottom—from his fellow actors and delivers him to Titania. Blissfully unaware of the magic at work, Nick mistakes Titania and her fairy-folk for an exceptionally talented troupe of actors also rehearsing in the forest. Oblivious to the magic unfolding around him, his earnest commitment to the role convinces Titania that she has found her perfect Bottom.
Can the Mechanicals save Nick before he is swept up in the magic of The Dream forever? And can Helena rewrite her story before Shakespeare's ending becomes her own, or is she destined to repeat a story written more than 400 years ago?
